Faculty Activity Reporting at SMU

Beginning in the fall of 2025, SMU will launch a new Faculty Activity Reporting System within Interfolio. A core team of associate deans from each school/college, as well as members of the Office of Faculty Success, the Office of Information Technology, and University Decision Support have been collaborating since January 2024 to make this transition as smooth as possible for SMU faculty.

Below you will find training guides, information sessions, FAQs and support contacts that further explain the FAR system.

Getting Started with Interfolio

To support faculty in the initial 2025–2026 launch of Interfolio Faculty Activity Reporting (FAR), we’ve created a Faculty Checklist to help guide your transition. This tool outlines what information to review, where to enter your activities, and what’s actually required for university-level reporting. We strongly encourage faculty to also review the FAQs and Training Guides below, and to connect with their department or school leadership, as expectations and use of the system may vary slightly across academic units.
