Moody and Miller Event Center

Moody Miller Event Center

An Iconic Venue for Your Next Event

Moody Coliseum and Miller Event Center are located on the campus of Southern Methodist University. In the past half-century, the historic arena, home to the men's and women's basketball and women's volleyball teams at SMU, has hosted collegiate stars, tennis legends, American presidents, NBA MVPs and music icons.

Each May and December the Coliseum is transformed to host SMU Commencement as well as graduation ceremonies for thousands of area high school students. SMU Commencement speakers have included former First Lady and SMU graduate Laura Bush, former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, journalists Jim Lehrer and Bill Moyers, and Oscar-winning actress and SMU graduate Kathy Bates.

Four U.S. presidents have spoken at Moody Coliseum: Richard Nixon, Gerald R. Ford, George H.W. Bush, and George W. Bush. Poet T.S. Eliot also spoke to audiences there. Moody Coliseum also has been the venue for entertainers such as the Kingston Trio, the Rolling Stones, John Denver, Three Dog Night, Kesha, REO Speedwagon, The Eli Young band, the Grateful Dead, Queen, U2 and Pearl Jam.

Moody Coliseum and Miller Event Center stand proudly as a preeminent collegiate sports arena and multi-purpose event facility, preserving its historical character while adding the most modern technological enhancements.
