Welcome to Summer in the City 2008
SMU’s Summer Session
Summer
2008 Calendar
Summer I: May 29 - June 27
Summer II: July 1 - 31
Combined 10-week Session: May 29 - July 31

Summer at SMU is a change of pace. In addition to our customary smaller class sizes and close interaction with faculty, summer offers a more relaxed setting. Summer is a great time to add a credential to your resume, such as a second degree, major or minor (such as a minor in Business), catch up on a difficult subject, or study a topic you can’t fit into your schedule during the regular semesters.
Together with the liberal arts, fine arts, business, engineering, law, and theology courses offered on SMU’s main campus in Dallas, The University offers the opportunity to study abroad in any of ten different countries as well as the chance to take courses at SMU-in-Taos at Fort Burgwin near Taos, New Mexico.
Designed to be affordable and accessible, financial aid, payment options and housing on campus are available for students. Dedman Center, SMU’s state-of-the-art wellness center, provides recreational offerings including rock wall climbing, sand volleyball and an outdoor pool with waterfall. Want to earn and learn this summer? We can point you in the direction of student employment, the Undergraduate Research Assistant Program and internships on campus and in Dallas.
“Summer in the City” abounds with cultural, social and sporting events throughout Dallas. Spend your free time at concerts, theatrical productions, arts celebrations and museums. For sports fans, an evening at Texas Rangers' baseball games or the Rough Riders' minor league games are not to be missed.
Whether you are an SMU student, a visiting student from another college, or a high school graduate accepted for fall matriculation at an accredited college or university, you are eligible to study at SMU this summer.
