Dr. Evelyn Parker at WCC Central Committee

Dr. Evelyn L. Parker, associate professor of Practical Theology at Perkins School of Theology, participated in the World Council of Churches Central Committee meeting, August 28 - September 5, 2012, at the Orthodox Academy of Crete in Kolympari, Greece.

Dr. Parker has been a member of the Central Committee since Februrary 2006. The Central Committee serves as the main decision-making body of the WCC between assemblies. This is the fifth and final meeting of the 2006 committee, which was elected at the 9th Assembly in Porto Alegre, Brazil. A new Central Committee will be elected at the WCC 10th Assembly, October 30 - November 8, 2013, in Busan, Republic of Korea.
