Society, Ecology, and Natural Resources Education Collective

The mission of the Society, Ecology, and Natural Resources Education Collective is to increase access to engaging STEM and environmental education resources in English and Spanish-speaking classrooms. By sharing educational resources, the collective aims to increase youth exposure to environmental stewardship, scientific inquiry, and modern technology to contribute to the capabilities of future generations in stewardship of their communities.

This effort was born from two research projects funded by the National Science Foundation investigating communities engaged in artisan, small-scale gold mining. These educational resources are designed around our partner ASGM communities in Colombia and Peru. We share these resources broadly to provide educators across the globe with enriching material to enhance student learning. Educational materials are posted in both Spanish and English.

Please visit our “Educational Resources” section accessible via the menu on this page to view our posted educational resources. With these programs, we hope to provide opportunities for engaging STEM experiences, increase awareness of local environmental issues, and deepen students’ connection to nature.
