Golden Mustangs Day

This special reunion celebrates alumni from the Class of 1968 and earlier and includes a luncheon featuring SMU President, R. Gerald Turner and other illuminating activities. Registration opens soon.

Friday, April 12, 2019

10:30 a.m. 2019 Jerry LeVias Golf Classic Enjoy a day of golf and fun with Head Coach Sonny Dykes and his staff! Proceeds of the tournament will be used to renovate the Vic and Gladie Jo Salvino Strength and Conditioning Center in the Loyd All-Sports Complex. Registration for a team of four is $2,500 or $625 per player.

Perunapalooza ignites SMU as the university's springtime festival to celebrate Peruna's Birthday! Students enjoy free games, rides free activities while helping themselves to a variety of carnival-inspired food.

8 p.m. Sing Song An evening of joyful voices and great dance moves make this annual student musical competition a Founders' Day Weekend favorite. Free and open to the public.

Saturday, April 13

11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. SMU Student Ring Ceremony A once-in-a-lifetime tradition for students who have completed 60 or more academic hours.

Location: Hughes-Trigg Theater
11:00 a.m. – 1 p.m. President's Associates Celebration Honoring donors who have contributed $1,000 or more to current use funds in support of Pony Power. Enjoy a light lunch buffet and welcoming remarks before heading to the football game. By special invitation. Contact Bethany Rials for more information.
10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Meadows Museum Family Day Explore paintings by Spanish painter Mariano Fortuny (1838–1874), his friends, and the artists he knew and influenced. Enjoy hands-on art activities for tots to teens, a museum-wide scavenger hunt, and healthy snacks. Free and open to the public.
1 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. SMU Spring Football Scrimmage Meet and mingle with the coaching team and student-athletes before the game, then watch the exciting Defense vs. Offense face-off. Free and open to the public.

In partnership with The Dallas Morning News, activities will highlight faculty expertise and SMU research.

George W. Bush Presidential Center Special Exhibit

A special exhibit exploring presidential retreats. Four featured retreats – Camp David in Frederick County, MD, Prairie Chapel Ranch in Crawford, TX, LBJ Ranch in Stonewall, TX, and Walker’s Point in Kennebunkport, ME – will be highlighted in-depth revealing how U.S. presidents have used these special places for work, rejuvenation, and rest.
