Undergraduate students have the opportunity to study with renowned faculty. In small classes, students can learn about all parts of the world, from ancient times to the present day.
Classes are small – usually 25 to 30 students. Junior seminars (12 students per section) provide intense training in research and writing. In addition to its strength in research, some of the university's most gifted teachers are in this department, receiving the university's top teaching awards.
Covid-19 Period Policy
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, in the academic year 2020-2021 students may transfer in up to six credit hours (2 courses) of online history courses from other four-year colleagues and universities. All such courses must receive prior approval from the Clements Department of History.
