Minor in Health Sciences

A minor in Health Sciences offers students a systematic exposure to health-related disciplines, such as biology, chemistry, psychology and sociology. It is particularly suitable for students who are interested in medicine, dentistry or other biomedical careers. This interdisciplinary minor may not be selected by students majoring or minoring in Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biophysics or Health & Society. Each advanced course must be taken in residence.

Requirements for the Minor

  • BIOL 1301/1101, 1302/1102 (8 credit hours)
  • CHEM 1303/1113, 1304/1114 (8 credit hours)
  • SOC 1300 or PSYC 1300 (3 credit hours)
  • 2 of 3 (6-7 credit hours):
    • BIOL 3304
    • BIOL 3350
    • CHEM 3371/1117

Total: 25-26 credit hours
