Welcome to the SMU Police Department
Mission Statement
The Southern Methodist University Police Department is a professional law enforcement agency committed to supporting the University mission by fostering a secure learning and working environment through effective use of crime prevention, protection, and general police services.
Fully sworn and armed police officers, licensed by the State of Texas, patrol the campus 24 hours day/365 days a year and may be summoned by contacting the police communications center.
