Although we are just beginning the second semester of this school year, it is already time to begin planning for next year. The SMU Mothers' Club is seeking individuals for the following leadership positions:
Officers

President - serves as presiding officer at meetings and coordinates Club activities

President-Elect - assists President as needed in coordination of Club activities

First Vice President-Membership - maintains Club membership records and works with Membership Recruitment Chairman to coordinate Membership Campaign
-
Second Vice President-Scholarships - facilitates the selection of Outstanding Senior Woman
-
Third Vice President-Communications - coordinates website and facilitates communication with membership
-
Secretary - maintains records of Club meetings
-
Treasurer - maintains the Club financial records
-
Historian - maintains a record of Club events and activities
-
Parliamentarian - serves as Parliamentarian at Club meetings
Standing Committee Chairmen
-
Athletic Liaison - encourages a strong relationship between members of athletic booster clubs and the SMU Mothers' Club
-
Board Meetings Chairman - coordinates the Mothers' Club quarterly Board Meetings
-
Family Weekend Mothers' Club Luncheon Chairman - works with Student Foundation leaders to plan and implement a reception and luncheon during Family Weekend
-
Gifts Campaign Chairman - plans and implements a campaign to encourage monetary gifts to be used for student activities
-
Membership Recruitment Coordinator - recruits and schedules volunteers for membership recruitment events

Memorials Chairman - offers comfort and encouragement to SMU families in time of need
-
Mustang Cookout Chairman - hosts an event during Move-In Weekend to welcome incoming students and their families
-
Outstanding Seniors Reception Chairman - plans an event that recognizes Outstanding Senior Nominees and their families

Thirst Aid Chairman - organizes Move-In Weekend Thirst Aid stations and coordinates volunteers

Regional Representatives Chairman
All SMU Mothers' Club Officers and Chairmen are expected to::
-
join the Mothers' Club
-
attend all Board Meetings
-
assist with Club events and activities
-
contribute to the Gifts Campaign
-
promote membership of the Club and participation in its events to other SMU parents
-
maintain a record of activities and a time line for passing on to incoming Chairmen at end of the year
Members-at-Large
If you would like to attend meetings and volunteer your time where needed but cannot commit to serving as a chairman, you might consider being a Member-at-Large.
Members-at-Large attend meetings and volunteer their time to help at SMU Mothers' Club activities and with SMU programs as needed and as available.
