Casper Njuguna

Dr. Casper Njuguna is a former director at the Africa Policy Institute in Nairobi, Kenya where he served and worked alongside various international organizations and countries focusing on numerous issues like election, peace, and security. He published his seminal work African Customary Law at Lexington Books - Rowman & Littlefield Publishers in 2019. He most recently published a book chapter, World Society and Constitutional Adoptions in Africana World in Perspective, at Kendal Hunt Publishing in 2020. He holds a Ph.D. in political science from the University of Texas at Dallas. Additionally, he obtained a Master's degree from the University of Texas at Dallas (Political Science) and a Master's from the University of Kentucky (Diplomacy and Development). He received a Bachelors' degree, summa cum laude, from Kentucky State University.

His current research focuses primarily on the interdisciplinary connection of institutions, human rights, and economics and its application within the framing of constitutional law, particularly in indigenous law, policy-making, and cultural normativity. He has received several awards and grants, including the Presidential Award at Kentucky State University, the Lyman T. Johnson Fellowship, the Fredrick von Hay Research Scholar, the Arthur Ashe, Jr. Sport-Scholar, the small research grants recipient at the University of Texas at Dallas, and the Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame's Hampshire Honor Society.
