    Justin Gressel is a clinical professor in the marketing department at the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University (SMU). His primary interests are in the analysis and management of outbound test and learn efforts, including the management of holdout groups, to measure incremental gains and minimize risk. Justin earned his PhD in Marketing from Purdue University, and he graduated with both an MBA and a BS in Statistics from Brigham Young University.

    Prior to joining SMU, Justin worked within the hospitality and tourism industry in various capacities related to analytics. He worked at Universal Orlando, Walt Disney World, and Great Wolf Resorts within digital marketing, personalization, revenue management/pricing, and market research. He also has prior academic experience, having worked at the American University of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates and The University of Texas at Rio Grande Valley as a marketing professor.

    Justin’s primary responsibilities are in teaching, curriculum development, corporate outreach, and student involvement. In his current role, Justin teaches analytics-related courses for graduate students and serves as a faculty mentor for the undergraduate marketing club. He also keeps current with industry wants/needs and the latest developments through corporate externships and consulting. 

    Justin serves as faculty mentor for the Cox Marketing Academy, an undergraduate organization for marketing majors that is aligned with the American Marketing Association.
