Financial Aid

Financial Aid is available in various forms to attend SMU-in-Taos. SMU students who received need-based financial aid during the academic year are eligible to apply for need-based financial aid for summer school studies. SMU merit scholarships for which you are eligible during the fall and spring terms are prorated for summer studies.

Applications for SMU summer school for which you will be requesting financial aid assistance need to be completed by April 16, 2012 for priority consideration for limited institutional need-based funding.

Please print, complete, and return the application to your FA Advisor in 119 Blanton Student Services Building. Questions concerning application for institutional merit, need-based, and loan financial aid should be directed to enrol_serv@smu.edu.

The award applies only to tuition; students receiving a Friends of Taos Tuition Assistance Award are responsible for fees, room/board, and transportation expenses.

Each Resident Advisor will have her/his room/board paid for by the Taos program. This translates into a significant stipend that is provided in exchange for your work as a Resident Advisor on the Taos campus. Resident Advisors must provide their own transportation to and from the Taos campus.
