Item Writing WorkshopIn Education, we often hear the phrase, “move the dial”. This phrase can inspire, and it can frustrate. It can be on a sweeping scale that affects policy at a broad level, or it can mean having the proverbial lightbulb illuminate for one child, in one classroom. A child that is struggling, a child that has already adopted another phrase, “I’m not a math person”.

We are math people. And at RME, we want to be a part of the process of removing the phrase, “I’m not a math person” from the mouths of Texas school children. And we want to do it in a meaningful way.

So, let’s move the dial together. Our research unit wants to offer resources that are evidence-based, that are peer-reviewed and vetted. We want to offer the opportunity to connect with others like you and with researchers, to develop partnerships and hone ideas. This is your space - a community of math people, a community of learners. We look forward to hearing from you.
