The UHP community offers many opportunities for involvement and creativity beyond the classroom. Honors students are among the movers and shakers of the University. As such, they are consistently the most involved, and can be found engaged in lab and field research, student government, band, orchestra, and writing for the campus newspaper—to name only a few activities.

In addition to the coursework, a wide variety of Honors events are scheduled each semester.  Many of the ongoing discussions, lectures, colloquium and dinners take place in the Scholars’ Den, or in other locations across campus.  Others involve exploring the surrounding Dallas Fort Worth metroplex.  Past field trips have included a bus tour of the city of Dallas, the Dallas Symphony, The Sixth Floor Museum, the Nasher Sculpture Garden, and more.

Four times annually, the Gartner Honors Lecture Series brings fascinating academic, business, and community leaders to campus for a visit that includes a public lecture, classroom visits, meals, and informal gatherings.
