Colin Hickl and Jacob Swanson awarded top prizes in Paper Chase Competition

SMU Dedman School of Law students Colin Hickl (2L) and Jacob Swanson (3L) won two of the top three cash prizes in the Paper Chase Competition. The competition was sponsored by Baylor Law and The Texas Young Lawyers Association (TYLA) and recognizes the best legal writers from Texas law schools. Colin took second place and Jacob won third place. Their memos were selected out of more than 30 submissions from eight Texas law schools. The competition featured a challenging real-world writing problem adapted from actual case files and required entrants to write a memo based on a closed universe of authorities.
