Applications for admission and financial aid for all prospective graduate students in any department of Dedman College, including the Department of Statistical Science, are processed through the Office of Research and Graduate Studies. Application forms may be downloaded from the following web site:
• General instructions and downloadable forms are available at this web site. It is important to note that the Statistical Science department offers two separate graduate degree programs: (1) Ph.D. and (2) Master of Science in Applied Statistics and Data Analytics (MASDA). Descriptions of the two degree programs are available at Graduate Programs . Applications must be processed through the Graduate Office – the Department of Statistical Science receives the completed application file from the Graduate Office. Once you have completed the application process, please send an email with your name to the Department of Statistical Science at firstname.lastname@example.org, notifying us that you have submitted your application. By sending this email notification to the department, we can ensure that your application receives rapid consideration for admission and financial aid (if desired).
Consideration for financial aid is automatically given to applicants applying for the Ph.D. program. You need not make a special request to the Chair of the department or to any faculty member. The department has an Admissions Committee that considers all applicants for fully funded Teaching Assistantships. The department also has a large number of Research Assistantships and Internships but these are typically reserved for experienced graduate students who have completed at least one year in our program. All of the Teaching Assistantships, Research Assistantships, and Internships include university-paid medical insurance.
If you are not interested in receiving financial support when you apply, please let us know in the email notification when you apply for admission.
