ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF AFRICAN HISTORY

African History  (Position No. 051172)  Tenure track appointment as Assistant Professor beginning fall 2012.  The Clements Department of History in Dedman College at Southern Methodist University seeks a specialist in African history with teaching interests in Human Rights.  We will consider all time periods and research interests.  Ph.D. required by August 15, 2012; teaching experience desirable; salary competitive.  All applications must demonstrate commitment to excellence in teaching and scholarship.  Employment eligibility verification will be necessary upon appointment.  To ensure full consideration for the position, the application must be postmarked by November 1, 2011.  However, the committee will continue to accept applications until the position is filled.  Send letter of application, curriculum vita, a writing sample, and three letters of recommendation to:
