Why the Cox Summer Business Institute?
As a non-business major, you’ve already decided that business won’t be the focus of your career. Your work may not be business—but make no doubt, business will be a big part of your work. From the arts to zoology, there are plans to develop, ideas to pitch, budgets to analyze and results to deliver. You may not live for business, but in today’s world, you can’t ignore it. We’ve designed the SMU Cox Summer Business Institute for student professionals just like you
Working with SMU Cox faculty mentors, you’ll explore current business issues, analyze real-world situations and hone your teamwork and interviewing skills.
In addition to dynamic classroom learning, you’ll interact with high-profile luncheon speakers and take field trips to leading companies to see how classroom ideas translate into business realities.
At the end of the month, you and your team will deliver a formal business presentation that pulls together everything you’ve learned and experienced. The SBI certificate you earn tells potential employers that you understand the importance of business skills and care enough to secure an important credential from a leading business school.
