Pedestrian Systems Usage Protocol

Due to the increase in Paved Pedestrian Malls, it has become necessary to implement a protocol regarding the limited access by vehicles on Paved Pedestrian Malls and sidewalks.  The issues that have surfaced include but are not limited to pedestrian safety, bicycle safety, keeping fire lanes clear, keeping accessible path ways open, damage to pavers and sidewalks, and appearance of malls (oil spills, tire marks, etc.).  Enforcement of these policies will be carried out by Park-n-Pony and SMU Police.

A copy of this protocol can be picked up at Park-n-Pony and the SMU Police.  University Policy 10.11 (Policy on the Use of Skate Boards, Scooters, In-Line Skates, and Trick Bikes) should also be consulted for additional guidance.
