Summer Studies

Keep Your Education Moving

SMU's intensive InterTerm programs on the Dallas campus allow you to take courses throughout the rest of the year – January, May, June, July and August.

Advance and enrich your academic career, work toward multiple majors or minors, and bring your degree home on time.  Commencing immediately after the close of Spring term, MayTerm allows students to complete one 3- or 4-hour course in just 11 class days.  During each 5-week June and July term, students can complete up to two courses (7 hours) in each session.  If winter studies is a better fit for you, JanTerm lets you complete one 3- or 4-hour course in just 8 class days.

SMU also offers "InterTerm" programs at the SMU-inTaos campus, and through Study Abroad.  Make your four-year degree special by adding value and enrichment to your academic career.

All InterTerm Programs offer:

  • Smaller Classes
  • More personalized access to faculty
  • Reduced tuition rates (also, financial aid is available)
  • Experiential learning opportunities
