First 5 FAQ's

First 5 was developed to build on the groundwork laid during AARO & Stampede – the name refers to the first five weeks of classes, which each correspond to one of the SMU Connecting Points: People, Spirit, Community, Academy, and Campus . The First 5 schedule consists of a few large-scale events open to all students (listed on the calendar below) and independent experiences (listed to the right of the calendar), all organized into the weeks themed for each connecting point. Students with the most participation will be eligible to win prizes each week! Prizes include ACL tickets, Mustang Laundry, Free Parking on campus and more!

The transition from high school to college is exciting, complex, and critical. SMU is committed to helping students connect to their new home during the First 5 weeks of school. If you participate, you will not only earn exclusive experiences and be eligible for prizes based on participation, but you will also have the chance to learn more about the SMU People, Spirit, Community, Academy, and Campus. So, connect with the people around you, engage the community and campus, and flourish during your time here on the Hilltop by getting started with First 5!
