Submission Package Workshop Taught by Rachel Goodman

Your query letter and synopsis may be the most important things you write in your publishing career.
If you hope to secure a traditional or hybrid publishing deal for your book, you need to have an outstanding submission package. The typical submission package — what you send to agents and publishers — includes 1) a query letter, 2) a synopsis, and 3) the first 10 to 50 double-spaced pages of your manuscript. This material may become the jacket copy, the marketing material, and even what's used to sell international rights. This package can also be used for talking to film agents and other representatives of other formats of story telling. They are the hardest aspects to write, no one likes to read them, and yet they are essential.
So don't go it alone!
In this class, women's fiction and contemporary romance author Rachel Goodman will walk you through the general structure of a query letter and synopsis, provide you with a list of Dos and Don'ts, share publishing industry insights and resources, and teach you how to find and target the perfect agent. It's a five-day class, so you will improve every day, learn more about the process of pitching and selling in each class, and understand the business of publishing.
By your final class, you should have a stellar hook and polished submission package ready to send out to your list!

MUST HAVE TAKEN CREATIVE WRITING FOUNDATION IN DALLAS ... and have a manuscript! The fee includes full room and board in addition to class. All you have to do is get there!
