Patricia M. Porter, LCSW, ACC, ABW is the President of Conflict Connections®, Inc., a woman-owned Texas HUB business in San Antonio, TX.
Patricia has worked extensively in the dispute resolution field since 1994 providing mediation, team facilitation, leadership development, and collaborative problem-solving training. She is an Executive Coach specializing in conflict management coaching and abrasive behaviors with managers and leaders.
Patricia facilitates and trains extensively throughout the U.S. on issues related to conflict resolution, and change and transition management as well as leadership development. She serves as a senior practitioner, trainer and leads training teams in Train-The-Trainer programs for a number of federal agencies including NASA, Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Department of Interior, and the Department of Defense. She serves both the public and private sectors including large family-owned businesses and higher education. She has now joined the H-E-B Talent and Leadership Development team.
As an experienced senior practitioner, Patricia serves as a formal mentor for organizational conflict and change management programs supporting the growth and learning for Navy mediators, Air Force conflict coaches, facilitators and trainers. For 10 years, Patricia worked at the University of Delaware providing conflict management services and training to faculty and staff as well as to the university’s institutional partners. She currently teaches conflict management coaching and facilitation courses in the graduate program on dispute resolution at Southern Methodist University (SMU) in Dallas, Texas.
She founded and hosted a global online radio program for close to 9 years called The Texas Conflict Coach®. The Podcast Library can be accessed at www.texasconflictcoach.com. She also volunteers as a certified facilitator for the Soliya Virtual Connect Program endorsed by the United Nations to co-facilitate cross-cultural dialogues between Western and Middle Eastern/Muslim societies. And, she is the Past President, Texas Association of Mediators.
Patricia is the author of two Minibuks™ Stop The Dreaded Drama: 55 Tips for Ending Destructive Conflict and, Stop Avoiding Conflict: Learn How to Address Disputes Before They Erupt. She is currently co-authoring the chapter “The Art of Conflict Coaching” in the book, Reframing Campus Conflict, 2nd Edition (Expected publication date Fall 2019/Winter 2020).
