Marcey is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor and Registered Play Therapist Supervisor in the state of Texas. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Business from Arizona State University, a Master’s degree in Counseling from Southern Methodist University and is completing her dissertation for a Ph.D. in Family Studies from Texas Woman’s University. 

Marcey currently owns a private practice, Prosper Counseling, that helps children, teens, individuals, couples and families move toward self-fulfillment, contentment and wholeness. Marcey has extensive experience working with children and families in a variety of capacities. She has worked with victims of neglect and abuse and non-offending parents at the Denton County Children’s Advocacy Center. She worked at University Behavioral Health Hospital as a therapist for adolescents in both inpatient and outpatient settings providing her a wealth of experience with youth in crisis. Marcey has experience working with divorcing parents involved in custody disputes in the Collin and Denton county courts, advocating for children in the foster care system as a CASA volunteer, and prior private practice experience.   

Marcey has been an adjunct lecturer on various topics at TWU, SMU, and UNT-Dallas, and a conference speaker at the local and state level. She has published two activities in a group therapy book. She is a member of the American Counseling Association, Texas Counseling Association, Association for Play Therapy, National Council on Family Relations, Texas Council on Family Violence, and Association for Family and Conciliation Courts.
