About

Dr. Caitlin Anderson is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Applied Physiology and Sport Management. She earned her doctorate in Education Policy and Leadership from Southern Methodist University and earned her master's degree in Educational Administration from Texas A&M University, with an emphasis in Student Affairs Administration in Higher Education. Dr. Anderson has been teaching at SMU since 2012, and she has been honored with several teaching awards, including the student-nominated Honoring Our Professors’ Excellence (HOPE) Award.  In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Dr. Anderson was appointed as the Assistant Director of the Hilltop Scholars Program out of the Office of the Provost in 2019.

Dr. Anderson's research interests include student values congruence, college student community engagement, college honors programming, and student transitional issues. She is a frequent presenter of college student well-being and the effectiveness of first-year programming at professional conferences nationwide.

She and her husband J.J. live in Dallas with their three children, Wesley, James, and S.K. and their two rescue dogs.
