General Education Curriculum

The General Education Curriculum (GEC) applies to students who entered (matriculation into) SMU prior to Fall 2012.

Students who matriculated to SMU before Fall 2012, must successfully complete courses in written English, quantitative reasoning, information technology and science and technology. In addition, recognizing the rapidly changing sources of knowledge, students are asked to take courses in both disciplinary and interdisciplinary studies.

Please see the archived General Education Curriculum website or your respective Undergraduate Catalog for additional details regarding general education and graduation requirements.
