The Mary McCord/Edyth Renshaw Collection on the Performing Arts, housed in the Jerry Bywaters Special Collections Wing, includes extensive holdings significant in the history of theater, film, music, and dance. This extensive collection is currently being processed and we are uncovering many treasures that had been previously hidden, none more astonishing than two Japanese masks dating from the 8th to 10th centuries.
The masks are currently undergoing conservation at the Dallas Museum of Art. They were packed and shipped to the DMA by Unified Fine Arts Services.
