Course Reserves

Course materials, such as books or DVDs, can be placed on reserve for your students. Reserves have short loan periods to ensure access to required materials.

Place Items on Course Reserve

Course reserves may be library materials or personal copies of books or movies. Reserves are located at the Main Desk in Fondren Library and the Services Desk in Hamon Arts Library. All media reserves (DVDs) are located in Hamon Arts Library.

Library Materials

Complete the Course Reserve Request form. Allow one week for processing at the beginning of a new term and two business days thereafter.

  • If the Libraries don't own the item you want to reserve, fill out a Purchase Request.
  • If you want to show a film in class but don't need long term reserve, you can place a hold in Library Search. All films are available for check out in Hamon Arts Library.

Personal Materials

Put your name and the course number on your item and bring it to the desk in Fondren Library or Hamon Arts Library. Fondren Library accepts books for reserve and Hamon Arts Library accepts books and DVDs. Fill out a form and leave the item at the desk for processing.

Copyright Restrictions

Course reserves must comply with copyright. See Copyright Guidelines for Course Reserves.

These items cannot be placed on course reserve:

  • Photocopies of materials
  • Course packs
