Fajor Ahmed

Fajor Ahmed is from Northern Virginia, just outside of Washington, D.C., and is majoring in Human Rights at SMU, with minors in Women and Gender Studies and the Tower Scholar Minor, all on the pre-law track. She earned a specialized certificate in Administration of Justice from the Academies of Loudoun and is a recipient of the Redman Foundation First-Year Scholarship. Fajor is actively involved in several campus organizations, including SMU Student Senate, SMU's Amnesty International chapter, Student Foundation, SMU Feminist Equality Movement (FEM), College Democrats, Phi Alpha Delta, the Human Rights Council, and the Maguire Ethics Center Student Advisory Board. Outside of her academic work, she creates digital collage art related to women’s rights and is a regular volunteer at the Genesis Women's Shelter. She is passionate about activism, criminal justice reform, and creating inclusive communities, shaped by her intersectional background and frequent moves across the United States. After graduation, Fajor plans to attend law school and pursue a career in public interest law, focusing on human rights.
