Saavni Desai
Saavni is from Plano, Texas, and is double majoring in Political Science and International Studies with minors in Arabic, Philosophy, and Public Policy and International Affairs through the Tower Scholars Program. She also has the privilege of being a President’s Scholar, Pre-Law scholar, Hamilton Undergraduate Research Scholar, and a member of the University Honors Program. Saavni was a national congressional debater in high school and continues her passion for public speaking as Vice President of the SMU Mock Trial team. She also serves as Greek Chair of Alpha Chi Omega sorority. Saavni had her co-authored research published in the Japanese Journal of Political Science and continues to conduct research through the Hamilton URA program. She also has internship experience with the Wilson Center, a think tank in Washington D.C. Saavni hopes to attend law school after graduation and then pursue diplomacy through the State Department, Department of Defense, CIA, UN, or anywhere else within the government that will allow her to fulfill her passion to serve.
