Lamisa Ali

Lamisa is from Plano, TX and is majoring in International Studies and Human Rights with minors in Spanish, Arabic, and Public Policy and International Affairs through the Tower Scholars Program. At SMU, Lamisa is a Second Century Scholar and is involved as the Marketing Director for the Human Rights Council and a Graphic Design Chair for Program Council. Lamisa’s desire to pursue a career in international relations and public service heightened in high school, where she was involved in Model United Nations and an attorney for her city’s Teen Court. Her specific interests include feasible access to education, human migration, especially refugee and asylum policy, and environmental security. Lamisa hopes to complete her doctorate before pursuing a career in diplomacy, and she is excited to apply the opportunities and skills she will gain from this program.
