Colton Fontenot
Colton (Cole) is from Franklin, Tennessee and is majoring in Philosophy, History, and Economics with a minor in Public Policy and International Affairs. Cole is also a Dedman College Scholar and part of the University Honors Program. On campus he is a board member for Reimagining Mental Illness, a mental health advocacy organization that seeks to help provide a space for students to share their experiences with mental health and contribute to the overall destigmatization of mental illness. Next year Cole will be serving as the Housing Unification Board's RA Liaison in addition to being a Residential Assistant in Morrison-McGinnis Commons. Through the Tower Scholars Program Cole hopes to gain a deeper understanding of how public policy can help solve and combat problems plaguing certain communities. He is most interested in income inequality, education reform, and food security. After he graduates from SMU he hopes to go on to law school and potentially start his own non-profit.
