Introduction
Mr. McGrew serves as Managing Director for the J.P. Morgan Nashville office within the Regional Investment Bank. He leverages the broad industry and deep product capability of JPM to deliver and execute on a range of strategic and capital markets solutions for clients while also growing JPM’s middle market healthcare practice. Previously, Mr. McGrew was Managing Partner at McNally Capital and leader of the firm’s Merchant Banking efforts while actively supporting Direct Investing efforts. Earlier in his career he assumed increasing levels of responsibility while working at other investment banks to gain significant investment and work experience globally.
Professional Experience
Mr. McGrew is a recognized expert in corporate finance, M&A, and family business dynamics with over 30 years of extensive experience identifying, structuring, operating, growing, and monetizing leading businesses for institutional and private owners. His career includes significant operating and principal investment experience.
Mr. McGrew began his career in 1990 as a member of the M&A Group of Salomon Brothers, where he worked in both New York and Tokyo. Upon graduation from the Wharton School with his MBA, he worked in the corporate finance departments of Merrill Lynch and Morgan Stanley in New York followed by his role at Buckeye Technologies where he was responsible for M&A, corporate strategy, and overall financial matters. He founded Paradigm Capital Partners, a successful family office backed private equity and venture capital firm based in Memphis, TN and conceived the “Memphis Angels” with investment capital provided by prominent local families and McKinsey & Co.
He also possesses deep corporate governance experience having served on public and private corporate boards and is an active private investor. His nonprofit activity includes the American Heart Association, the Nashville Zoo and First Presbyterian Church while also being actively involved on multiple boards at SMU.
