Career Closet
This August, the Hegi Family Career Development Center, Cox Career Management Center, and the Office of Social Change and Intercultural Engagement will host the inaugural Career Closet event for students. The Career Closet Pop Up Shop will provide students with FREE business professional attire. Please join us as we prepare to host the Career Closet where all students are welcome to browse our collection of new and gently used business professional attire needed for their journey to success.
By providing business professional and casual clothing, students can find the perfect fit at the Career Closet event on August 30th. Our goal is to help students dress to make lasting impressions during interviews, networking events, important meetings, and in the workplace.
By donating sharp suits and all the corporate standard accessories, you will be helping SMU students prepare to step into the professional world in style. Imagine the transformative power your contribution holds as students step into their futures with style and confidence. With your generous contribution, we can expand our product collection to be able to provide even more students with the essential business professional attire. Whether it’s one of accepted clothing items or monetary donation, every contribution counts.
Every student deserves a chance to shine in their professional journey, and you can be part of that transformation. Make a difference by donating to the Career Closet today, and give students the resources they need to succeed.
How can you donate?
Donations will accepted May 10th – August 1st, 2023. Donations can be made Monday through Friday from 10:00 - 2:00pm at the Hegi Family Career Development Center in the Hughes Trigg Student Center located at 3140 Dyer St, Dallas, TX 75206.
If you cannot make it to campus to donate, items can be mailed to:

If you would like to contribute but don't have any clothes to donate, please feel free to peruse our eStore of items needed. Make an impact by purchasing specific items from our donation wish list or contribute directly toward the Career Closet's mission of empowering students through professional attire.
If you or your company are interested in providing a large donation to the event, please email Amanda Bobo, abobo@smu.edu to be connected with our Development and External Affairs office to discuss options.
