Subiendo Academy at SMU

Subiendo means “going up," and refers to the next generation of rising leaders who will address future business challenges. Subiendo Academy at SMU is a leadership development program that seeks to empower the next generation of Texas leaders and encourage them to pursue higher education and explore business fields. Created in 2010 at the University of Texas at Austin, Subiendo prepares tomorrow's leaders to address the needs of the next generation and encourages this rising generation to believe in their potential and aspire to lead.

Subiendo is a five day summer leadership program designed to prepare young leaders in addressing the needs of the next generation by problem solving issues facing the business world. Students will not only hear from speakers who will share their leadership stories, but they will also participate in communication workshops, learn networking skills, utilize project based learning, and develop mentor relationships with community and business leaders. Current high school juniors can apply for this unique opportunity to address real world challenges with today's top business leaders.
