May and Summer 2021

Following renewed travel restrictions by the Government of New Mexico, SMU has decided to suspend summer operations at SMU-in-Taos for the coming May, June, and August 2021 terms. Please continue to monitor our website for updates on campus reopening.

Will SMU-in-Taos offer any courses during May, June, or August Terms for 2021?

In-person courses on the Taos campus have been suspended. Instead, SMU-in-Taos will offer fully virtual or Flex (Dallas campus) courses during May, June, and August Terms during 2021. Check out our virtual and SMUFlex course offerings.

Do I need to apply for the SMU-in-Taos courses? How do I enroll?

No application is needed for our 2021 terms. Students can enroll once enrollment opens through my.smu.edu

I need to take BL 3335 Business Law. How can I enroll?

To enroll in BL 3335 Business Law, students will need SMU-in-Taos department consent. To sign up for this course, you must email us at smutaos@smu.edu. Please note that seats are extremely limited and to join this class, you must have a 3.5 GPA.

What is the cost of an SMU-in-Taos course?

The tuition for an SMU-in-Taos course is the same as main campus at $1520/credit hour. A 3-credit course is approximately $4560.

What are financial aid options for May, June, and August Terms?

Students are encouraged to talk to their financial aid advisors to determine their financial aid options, including if their merit or need-based scholarships will pro-rate for the term. SMU-in-Taos offers a partial scholarship.

I need to take a course but I don't see it as an offering. What can I do?

Suggest a course on our wish list! There are no guarantees that we will be able to offer it but we will pass the requests on to the appropriate departments.

How can I swap, cancel or withdraw from a Taos 2021 term?

Visit the Swaps, Cancellations, and Withdrawals page for more information. Be mindful of deadlines regarding tuition refunds.

Who should I contact if I have questions?

Please email us at smutaos@smu.edu for any TAOS-related questions, including our course offerings, financial aid, or how to withdraw.
