Director for Housing Operations, Residence Life and Student Housing

Southern Methodist University (SMU) invites inquiries, nominations and applications for an experienced, innovative, committed, and collaborative professional to serve as the Director for Housing Operations, Residence Life & Student Housing. The Director serves as a senior staff member within RLSH & oversees the business operations within the department. The position reports to the Assistant Vice President and Dean of Residence Life & Student Housing and plays a key role in the strategic planning of the department with a focus on operations, safety, security, fiscal responsibility, & compliance. The Director must create efficient operational practices that focus on student learning, growth, and development. The position contributes to the strategic & capital planning within the department and the execution of housing operations including marketing and promotion of University housing, room assignments, billing, and front desk management. This position leads the department’s occupancy management efforts, oversees the RLSH database software (StarRez), and manages room selection process for students. The Director provides training and support to staff and team members. The position plans, oversees & directs summer conference operations in the residence halls.

Department Systems Administrator, Dr. Bob Smith Health Center

At the Dr. Bob Smith Health Center, SMU students receive comprehensive, quality health care in a state-of-the-art campus facility. The Health Center is seeking a Department Systems Administrator who manages all information systems and technology resources. An understanding of business processes, technology and people are essential to carry out this role. The DSA works in an advisory capacity with the executive director and works collaboratively with constituents, including internal & external departments, personnel, suppliers and customers to analyze, problem-solve and implement technology solutions to support the information technology needs of the Health Center.  As an integrated center, this role requires an ability to think systemically and understand how to make different software packages work seamlessly together. This position manages projects and arranges collaboration among appropriate parties to achieve successful outcomes. The role requires a broad, long-range approach to problem-solving that involves objective analysis and planning.
