Assistant Director for Fraternity and Sorority Life | Fraternity and Sorority Life

The Assistant Director provides training, development, advice, and support for the individual members, chapters, councils, advisors and inter/national organizations of the SMU fraternity & sorority community. Specific advisement is provided to the individual members and chapters of the Panhellenic Council (PHC) and the National Pan-hellenic Council (NPHC). This position supports initiatives that benefit the entire community including event planning, training and development, and advice and support for SMU students and the fraternity and sorority community. The Assistant Director is a member of the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life (FSL) within the Student Involvement team and works in service of the departmental mission, and divisional strategic plan.

Assistant Director for Facility Operations and Aquatics | Department of Recreational Sports

The Department of Recreation Sports within the Division of Student Affairs at Southern Methodist University (SMU) seeks an Assistant Director for Facility Operations and Aquatics. The position assists with the management of the 170,000 square foot campus recreation Dedman Center and oversees the facility Membership Services. The position will have direct supervision of the indoor swimming pool, outdoor fountain pool, and Aquatics program. It will also include supervision of the  facility rental/reservations, department risk management, and instructional programs. The ideal candidate will be student centered, enthusiastic, energetic and self motivated. The candidate will also have a demonstrated record of working in a team dedicated to results.

Student Conduct and Community Standards Coordinator | Office of Student Conduct and Community Standards 

SMU is seeking a Student Conduct and Community Standards Coordinator who will work under the supervision of the Associate Dean of Students/ Director of Student Support, Advocacy and Accountability to adjudicate alleged violations of the student code of conduct which includes meeting with students and advising students and their parents on conduct matters. This position completes the appropriate paperwork and data entry to track violations of the Student Code of Conduct along with tracking sanctions and completing reports. The Coordinator will assist in the advisement of the Honor Council and adjudication of violations of the Honor Code. The Coordinator will assist with educational outreach efforts both on campus and digitally.

Chaplain and Minister to the University | Office of the Chaplain and Religious Life

The mission of Southern Methodist University (SMU) is to create and impart knowledge that will shape citizens who contribute to their communities and lead their professions in a global society. As part of fulfilling its mission and its Methodist heritage, the position of Chaplain and Minister to the University provides religious, spiritual and moral leadership and counsel to the university community. Reporting to the Vice President for Student Affairs, with a dotted line report to the President of SMU, the Chaplain and Minster to the University fulfills these critical responsibilities through the provision of pastoral care; university worship; religious life advisement and programming; close interaction with the Dean of the Perkins School of Theology and other religious leaders in the community; and working with faculty, students, administrators and staff to create a campus environment that supports the university's commitment to spiritual growth, ethical behavior, intellectual and academic exploration of religion and spirituality, and the rich diversity of religious faiths and traditions. This position is part of the leadership team of the Division of Student Affairs and also supports the University's crisis management team.

Residential Community Director | Residence Life and Student Housing

The Residential Community Director provides leadership in developing and sustaining positive academically focused residential communities and in successfully accomplishing administrative functions required in managing a university residence community. Position is live-in and reports to an Assistant Director for Residential Life. The position serves in an on-call rotation. Annual salary - $40,000. This is a live-in position. Other benefits include a meal allowance of $2,300 per year (twelve months); relocation allowance up to $400; an annual professional development allowance; partially furnished one bedroom/one bathroom apartment, including laundry, utilities, expanded television service and internet; and comprehensive package of University health, tuition and retirement benefits.
