Cultural Organizations

Asian Council is the umbrella organization within the SMU Asian community, which includes the Chinese Student Association (CSA), East Asian Student Association (EASA), Indian Student Association (ISA), Korean Student Association (KSA), and Vietnamese Student Association (VSA). They provide a community for those interested in Asian culture.

The Association of Black Students is an organization that provides educational, cultural, and social exchange among African American students at SMU. ABS is the umbrella organization for the Black SMU community, which includes the African Student Association (ASA), Black Men Emerging (BME), Natural Hair Network (FRO), and Sisters Supporting Sisters (SSS).

CHAS is the umbrella organization that promotes leadership, service, culture focusing on the SMU Latino community. CHAS is the umbrella organization for the SMU Latino community, which includes the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC).

This leadership development experience is specifically designed for multicultural organizations. Student leaders will have the opportunity to engage with newly selected executive board members from groups under ABS, CHAS, and AC, including leaders of special interest groups, focusing on transitions, key leadership skills, relationship building, campus resources, and even an info session from Senate Finance Rep, Tulsi Nursariwala! Follow along in person or virtually. Lunch will be provided to participants who attend the in person experience.
