Comprehensive Student Experience Steering Committee

The Comprehensive Student Experience Steering Committee is focused on the development of a Comprehensive Student Experience that will help guide students from Orientation through Graduation. The Steering Committee includes members from across the University to ensure the program developed will fully encompass all aspects of a Mustang’s journey through SMU. The Comprehensive Student Experience is focused on co-curricular experiences and ways students can identify opportunities for growth and campus connection and track their progress. The Steering Committee is specifically focused on incorporating the Student Affairs Learning Domains into the Comprehensive Student Experience.

Student Support Steering Committee

The Student Support Steering Committee exists to catalogue, guide, develop, and implement initiatives and programs that holistically promote student well-being at SMU. The work of this committee addresses many of the objectives in goals 2 and 4 of the Student Affairs strategic plan. The Student Support Steering Committee lays the groundwork for a culture of care and growth of SMU students, such that they are appropriately challenged and supported in maximizing their potential for wellness.

Division Partnerships Steering Committee

The Division Partnerships Steering Committee is tasked with goals and objectives 2.9, 3.2, 3.3, 3.4, 3.5, and 3.8 from the 2018 – 2023 Division of Student Affairs Strategic Plan entitled Cultivating Courageous Change. The overarching goal of this committee is to strengthen current partnerships and establish new partnerships in an effort to create more high impact programs and services for student. There are three main subcommittees for the Division Partnerships Steering Committee including Engage Dallas, Academic Partnerships, and Business and Employer (currently inactive). The Engage Dallas subcommittee focuses on objectives 2.9 and 3.8, opportunities for engagement in Dallas and North Texas. The Academic Partnerships Subcommittee focuses on objectives 3.2 and 3.4, focusing on increasing faculty engagement and strengthen collaboration between different University units. The Business and Employer Subcommittee focus on objectives 3.3 and 3.5, focusing internship and employment experiences.  Through this work we hope to grow, increase, strengthen, and leverage current programs and partnerships within the Division, with Academic Affairs, employers, and with community non-profit organizations in the Dallas and North Texas area.

Professional Excellence Steering Committee

The Professional Excellence Committee was established to meet Goal Six of the Division Strategic Plan. The Professional Excellence Committee establishes guidelines and programs to advance professional excellence as an expectation and commitment to inform the recruitment, development, retention, and advancement of talent in the division.
