Friday, October 9 - Sunday, October 11 at Hoblitzelle Camp & Conference Center
Join other students and staff in exploring the intersections of diversity and leading for change while having the time of your life in a new SMU retreat experience! Mustang Intersections is a joint effort of the Office of Multicultural Student Affairs and the Community Engagement & Leadership Center.
Mustang InterSECTIONS is a program designed to examine the intersections of human diversity and social change. Offered in a two-night retreat style format, InterSECTIONS provides an environment that allows you to foster inclusivity and a deeper understanding of diversity. You will participate in a range of individual reflections, and small and large group activities and discussions designed to introduce you to ideas of identity, bias, privilege, and oppression, as well as to develop leadership and advocacy skills to address issues on campus and in the community.
InterSECTIONS was developed from the frameworks of the Multicultural Competence Model and the Social Change Model of Leadership Development. The program is supported and facilitated by staff of Multicultural Student Affairs and the Community Engagement & Leadership Center.
Mustang InterSECTIONS is completely free for SMU students. Transportation, lodging, and meals are included and provided through the camp center.
