In January of 2016, Southern Methodist University, in conjunction with the SMU Cox Latino Leadership Initiative (LLI) and the SMU Multicultural Student Affairs Office, will launch its Latino Leadership Summit, a two day leadership development program for rising Latino undergraduates. This Summit will equip students with the tools to become leaders in their colleges/universities, communities, and future workplaces.
Who Should Attend
In order to participate in LLS, students must be an enrolled undergraduate student. Graduate students may attend as an advisor.
Leadership Workshops will address key topics including:
Industry Breakout Sessions:
- Cultural Foundations of Latino Leaders
- Leading Yourself – Executive Presence
- Leading Others – Difficult Conversations
- Technology and Leadership
Students will attend two Industry Breakout sessions, where they will hear panelists from various industries talk about the jobs of the future and what they can be doing now to develop the skills and competencies they will need to lead.
