Real Talk gives students and other members of the SMU Community an opportunity to discuss current, relevant events and the impact they have on diversity, equality and social justice. Through collaborations with academic departments and other departments around the university, Multicultural Student Affairs creates space for open dialogue centered around awareness, education and with varying perspectives.

This program promotes student awareness of campus and community resources, provides support for new students, and motivates students be academically successful, independent, and contributors to an inclusive environment in the SMU community. Participants are paired with a peer mentor that serves as a resource and guide through their first year at SMU.
Multicultural Academic Awards Ceremony
The MAAC is held during the spring semester. Multicultural Student Affairs recognizes the academic achievement of all minority students who have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or above. At the ceremony, students are recognized for their hard work and dedication in the presence of their parents, family, SMU administrators, and their peers.
