2017 Spring Cohort

 

Sungman (Tyler) Kim

Tyler is the graduate assistant for the Center for Faith & Learning. He received his B.A. in Political Science & Diplomacy at Sogang University in Seoul Korea. 

Tyler is currently in the Department of Education Policy and Leadership, M.A. program in the Annette Caldwell Simmons School of Education and Human Development here at Southern Methodist University. 

 

  Kenna McCoy

Kenna is a junior from Atlanta, Georgia majoring in Dance and Political Science. Her Catholic faith is the central aspect of her life. She has been dancing ballet since she was three years old; it is her passion. Kenna also love the outdoors and to go camping, kayaking, and hiking as much as possible. She volunteers to help refugees in the Dallas community, and she wants to continue this ministry after college. 

Dylan Erwin

Dylan is from Decatur, Texas and is graduating in May. He has majored in business management and biology. Dylan will be attending medical school in the fall.Lastly, he enjoy being outdoors, playing golf, and playing guitar.

 

Jin Seock Shin

Jin Seock is a third year law student at the SMU Dedman School of Law. Despite being born Korean citizen by birth, he spent most of his life outside of his home country growing up as a missionary kid in South Africa for over 14 years and receiving his bachelor’s degree in international relations from Liberty University in Virginia. Jin Seock is passionate about the youth, formerly as an English teacher and currently as a youth teacher at a local church. And in his spare time, he is an avid painter and foodie.

 

Kierson McGriff

Kierson is from Birmingham, Alabama and is currently a junior majoring in accounting at SMU. Some of her hobbies are reading, volleyball and exploring!

 Rui Tang

Rui and originally from Sichuan, China. He is currently a third year doctoral student in clinical psychology. Specifically, his research and clinical interest focuses on the relationship between personality disorders and neuropsychological pathologies. In his spare time, he likes to read novels, play tennis, and to go hiking with friends and families. 

 

Taylor Kramer

Taylor is from Los Angeles, but her parents recently moved to Austin.She is a sophomore majoring in Human Rights and Applied Physiology, with minors in gender studies, history, and sports management. 

Taylor coaches middle school girls volleyball in Plano, she enjoy volunteering with her sorority, Gamma Phi Beta, and with Relay for Life of SMU.  She also enjoy spending her free time with friends and with her dog. 

Amanda Oh

Amanda is a first-year student from Arlington, Virginia. She is currently studying political science and public policy here at SMU. In her free time she enjoys debating, writing, and visiting museums. Amanda looks forward to deepening her faith through discussion and friendship as a Faith & Learning Scholar.
