Marilea Jungman Reeder leads RME's communications and outreach efforts, partnering with schools, non-profits, and private organizations to support Texas educators and projects at the systems and policy level with an ultimate focus on student achievement. She manages the unit's website, social media and outreach platforms, and coordinates project news releases, as well as works closely with a leadership team on RME's annual Research-to-Practice Conference. She is regularly involved in grant writing, project coordination, and statewide outreach.
She joined the Simmons School of Education in January 2011 as a research assistant on the Early Learning in Mathematics (ELM) research project. Since then she has served as project coordinator and specialist on numerous projects including the Texas Education Agency's Response to Intervention (RtI) Guidance App & Website, the RtI & Texas Webinar series, the Istation Algebra 1 Universal Screener, the Istation Assessment System Validity Study, and the ESTAR/MSTAR Universal Screener & Diagnostic Assessment System project. Currently she is the Research Coordinator for the STEM Academy for Science Teachers & Leaders, a collaboration funded by the Texas Instruments Foundation and in partnership with Dallas ISD.
