Elizabeth Howell is a Research Assistant and doctoral student in the Annette Caldwell Simmons School of Education. She received her B.A. in Mathematics from the University of Texas at Austin and her M.A. in Mathematics from the University of Texas at Arlington. Prior to arriving at SMU, Elizabeth taught secondary mathematics in Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD and Coppell ISD, and taught developmental and credit mathematics courses at Brookhaven College, Eastfield College, Collin College, Tarrant County College, and North Central Texas College. At North Central Texas College, Elizabeth also served as the Department Chair of the College Preparatory Studies department and supported faculty in multiple areas of developmental education. Elizabeth's research interests are related to college readiness in mathematics.
