George Hickey currently works as a Technical Developer for the Research in Mathematics Education research unit and the Simmons Hybrid Learning Initiative. George graduated from the University of California at San Diego with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering. His further education includes a graduate level certificate in Digital Game Development, Software Specialization earned from The Guild Hall at Southern Methodist University. He has worked as a software engineer, software developer, and computer programmer on various software products including: car dealership management systems, hospital pneumatic tube systems, iPhone apps, interactive websites, and virtual environments. George has also worked as a software consultant on a number of SMU research projects including: Scaling-up Effective Interventions for Preventing Reading Difficulties, Dating Violence Prevention Research Project, ESL Professional Development Grant, and the Digital Warrior Army Research Project.
