Czarina Reyes, PhD.
Professor of Mathematics, Dallas County Community College
Czarina S. Reyes, Ph.D., is currently a Mathematics Faculty member at Brookhaven College in Farmer Branch, Texas, and has 14 years of teaching experience. She has been employed with Brookhaven for thirteen years. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Southern Methodist University, a Masters in Liberal Arts with a concentration in Mathematics from Southern Methodist University, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Higher Education from the University of North Texas. While at Brookhaven she has been teaching developmental and college-level courses. In addition, she has supervised adjuncts, been lead faculty for college algebra, worked on the grant funded College Readiness Summer Math and Reading Together (SMART) program, and has worked with the AVATAR project. Dr. Reyes is a graduate of the Instructional Administration Institute from the Dallas County Community College District. In addition, her post-doctoral studies include being an active participant in Harvard’s Institutes for Higher Education: Inner Strengths of Successful Leaders and Mind, Brain and Education. Dr. Reyes was also a Visiting Scholar at ETS (Educational Testing Services).
Dr. Reyes is the author of the article, Success in Algebra among Community College Students, which was published in the Community College Journal of Research and Practice, 34: 256-266, 2010.
