Internship Opportunities with EAGLE Scholars
Are you looking for an incredible summer opportunity to use your Talents, Skills, Creativity, and Career Interest to Inspire, Engage, and Encourage middle and high school students to Discover their Passion and prepare their pathway to get there? If so, the Vickery Meadow/SMU EAGLE Scholars college-readiness internship was designed with you in mind.
During the 8-week summer program, you will:
- Inspire your small group of students by working with in partnership with another college intern to develop meaningful experiences project-based learning activities within your career field
- Engage students by not always having the answers, but being willing to seek the answers and discover new learning opportunities with them
- Encourage students to discover their passion and start working now so that they can fulfill their dreams
- Discover an amazing group of teenagers who come from many different countries and speak many different languages…who all have the same goal of furthering their education and being successful in life.
The EAGLE Scholars Internship begins the first full week in June and runs for 8 consecutive weeks, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The eight weeks include two weeks of professional development for the program. Interns must also complete 2-3 days of in-service with Americorps the week before the program starts. All EAGLE Scholars Interns must be members of Americorps and will receive a living allowance of $1,800 and a $1,175 education award after completing 300 hours of summer service.
