Harry Anderson has been a journalist, editor, corporate communications executive and university instructor for almost four decades. He recently retired as Senior Vice President, Corporate Communications, for Tenet Healthcare Corporation, a Dallas-based operator of general hospitals. Previously, he was Vice President, Corporate Communications at the Paramount Pictures movie studio, and earlier in his career he spent more than 18 years at the Los Angeles Times as a reporter, editor and columnist. He has taught undergraduate courses in journalism at California State University, Northridge, and graduate seminars in journalism at the University of Southern California. He continues to serve as a crisis strategist and communications consultant to private clients. Harry holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Washington and a Master of Journalism degree from the University of California, Los Angeles. As an instructor in SMU’s Center for Dispute Resolution and Conflict Management, Harry will teach a course on managing conflict and crises that arise from both traditional and new media.
